죽어서도 천년가는 주목나무
천만년 두고 한번 나올 아릿다운 수선화여
눈처럼 새하얀 학의 긴목 울지 못하고
구만리 하늘만 바라본다
설상의 주목나무처럼 살아서 천년 죽어서 천년
조국을 사랑하는 부드러움 한 줌의 흙 들풀마저
귀히여기는 자애로움 죄가 됐나요?
영어의 몸 북녁땅 굶주림 감옥 그 아픔
자유평등 찾아 주려했던게 큰 죄가 됐나요
우리님 그리워 우리들 가슴은
비수로 갈갈이 베어진 상처의
소금으로 절여진 듯 잠못이루는 밤
엄동설한 폭풍 몰아쳐도
서울광장에서 남대문 종로5가까지
목이 터져라 쓰러지고 넘어지며
님을 복원시켜드리기 위한 외침뿐이였습니다.

하늘은 비겁하고 비열한 야수들의 더 큰 죄를
묻기 위하여 시간을 주고 있을 뿐입니다.

중천에 뜬 태양은
푸르름을 더욱 빛나게 할 것입니다.
그날을 위하여 우리는
태극기를 들고 오늘도 외칩니다.

The yew tree that lasts a thousand year even after death
Oh, the beautiful daffodil that might bloom only once on a thousand year
Like the long white crane's neck,

Like the yew tree at snowy mountain a thousand year living
   and another thousand years dying
The gentleness of loving motherland. even a handful of dirt
    and grasses in the fields

 Prisoners behind bars, the starvation on the northern parts of land, 
 prisons, and all those sufferings
Trying to give liberty and Equity. Did it become a great crime?
Yearning for our dear one, our hearts
As if cut to pieces by sharp knife, the wounds
As if pickled by salts, THE SLEEPLESS NIGHTS.
Even though the cold of winter storms raged on
From Seoul squares to the South gate and the 5th ChongRo street
At the top of our lungs, fainting, and falling
Only screams to restore Dear One was there.
